'IN

-- By Sandra Lord

JUDY COPPAGE |
A
few months ago, Judy Coppage and I
hung out at my house and had a great time chatting about her
experiences in the entertainment industry. In this candid
interview, we see how this well-respected veteran's lack of ego,
confidence in her ability, strong sense of loyalty, commitment and
passion have no doubt served her well and have contributed to her
success and longevity in a business where success, loyalty and solid
friendships are fleeting at best. Her clients, many of whom with
which she has no contract have been loyal…have stayed with her for
years. A pioneer of sorts who virtually initiated the concept of
‘packaging’ and fought to bring the box-office blockbuster
franchise, Die Hard to the big screen, she’s also a
devoted wife, mother and ally. Judy has
a joie de vivre that most would envy --and she's just getting
started… Read more

tantalizing goddess sauntered by me
with a sultry stride. Entranced by her stunningly long legs,
captivating smile and beautiful curly locks that framed a chiseled
visage, I expected the stereotypical self absorbed and stand offish
attitude of most beautiful women in Hollywood. Instead, I was
presented with a shining and endearing disposition, complete with a
warm greeting and a friendly welcoming hug.
Sascha Andrew-Rose, the eloquent 2006 Miss Universe pageant
contestant, hails from the tropical island of St. Lucia
in the West Indies.

Brain-Drain of Executive Talent in Recording
Industry
By Tess Taylor
President of NARIP
In
spite of staff cuts at every major label and many independent labels
over the last year, we’re seeing a surprisingly strong job market.
But we’re also seeing many of the same positions that were
eliminated now being filled at lower salary grades. Staff cuts have
made it increasingly difficult for mid- to senior level executives
who have lost their jobs to find re-entry into the market at
salaries commensurate to the ones they had.

Summertime Reading &
Relaxing
"A
vacation is like love - anticipated with pleasure,
experienced with discomfort, and remembered with nostalgia.“
Anonymous
It’s
that time of year again - the vacation season. Hollywood -
the entertainment industry - is notorious for virtually
“shutting down“ during the summer vacation season of July and
August. Most television shows go on hiatus; many film studios
and major production house take their summer break; Malibu, Holmby Hills, Beverly Hills, and Bel Air become almost become
ghost towns, with many of its famous “industry” residents
heading for Hawaii, The Hamptons, Martha’s Vineyard, and Europe.
Even if you have not quite reached the point in your Hollywood
career where you can take a month or two off for vacation, you
still need to take a break for relaxation and rejuvenation. A
few days at the beach or in the mountains - even just a long
weekend - can renew your body and spirit. One way of really
relaxing is with a good book. So here are two interesting
choices you should get onto your summer reading list before
summer is over -- books that will help “recharge your
batteries” and get you ready for the big push career wise this
fall...Read More |
